Black Belt Oath

As a Black belt, I understand and accept all the responsibilities which the rank requires including the responsibility of conduct, the spirit of which is outlined by the three main Chinese philosophies of Kung Fu: Confucism, Taoism, and Buddhism.

I understand that the scope of my accomplishments and the quality of my character are affected by those who achieved this rank before me and those who will achieve it after me. I understand my actions from this point on will also define and affect those who came before and those who shall come after, so my intentions must be honest and pure while reflecting the character of a Silent River Kung Fu Black Belt.

For the welfare of all Silent River Kung Fu Black Belts, I understand my conduct must conform to the expectations of the Master Instructor of Silent River Kung Fu and agree to forfeit my rank and certification, and all privileges and materials associated with the rank, if I fail to fulfill the Master Instructor’s present or future expectations.

As I accept my Black belt, I am accepting the responsibility of being a teacher, a leader and a role model and I am agreeing to abide by the Silent River Kung Fu Black Belt Code of Ethics and to conduct myself accordingly.

If I can not or will not accept the expectations of the rank, as outlined above, then I should not accept the rank of Black belt.

By signing, I am acknowledging my understanding and agreement to the code above and accept the consequences should I fail to conduct myself in an honorable manner, and with the integrity and responsibly of the rank as outlined and presented to me on this date.
