Public Health Emergency - September 22, 2021
With our healthcare system on the verge of collapse, Alberta has declared a public health emergency with new measures and restrictions taking effect immediately and more restrictions becoming mandatory on September 20th.
Effective September 16, 2021, students enrolled in our Lil Leopard, Tiny Tiger, and Black Dragon Programs can continue to train under our existing protocols with spectator restrictions coming into effect immediately:
Recognizing that fully vaccinated people can still acquire and carry COVID-19, we will not be allowing any non-student spectators to enter our building. This measure is for the protection of all our young students who are not eligible for the vaccine. Access to our Zoom feeds will be available to parents and family of our students wishing to observe class.
Effective September 20, 2021, Silent River Kung Fu is supporting and applying the following mandated measures for our Teen/Adult Programs:
All students aged 18 years and older can continue to attend classes live at the Kwoon if they have proof of vaccination:
Single dose accepted between September 20 and October 25 if received 2 weeks before current class
Double doses required after October 25.
OR
Proof of privately-paid negative PCR or rapid test within 72 hours of current class (tests from AHS or Alberta Precision Laboratories not allowed)
All students aged 18 years and older without proof of vaccination can continue to attend classes via Zoom online.
As per Deena Hinshaw's Tweet on September 21, all students below the age of 18 are exempt from proof of vaccination and can continue to attend sport and recreation activities under our current and future COVID protocols.
As always, we will be monitoring the status of the pandemic and adjusting our protocols and safety measures to ensure we are doing everything we can to secure the safety of our students and, more importantly, the safety of our community’s most vulnerable citizens.
