Silent Auction - Year of the Dragon
It's time again for our Annual Silent Auction!
Every year at the Chinese New Year banquet we organize a silent auction to raise awareness and support for various charities through the Silent River Benevolent Foundation. Every penny raised goes directly to our charities. More information about the charities can be found using the links below.
This years auction will be in an online format only. By utilizing an online platform, we can ensure everyone is able to participate, even those that are unable to attend in person, and can maximize the overall support we are able to provide our charities. Details on how to participate (viewing/bidding/etc) will follow in a separate posting closer to the event.
To make this event as successful as possible, we depend on you and your generosity. New items, artisan products or local business donations would all make excellent auction items (please no previously used items). If you would like to donate, bring your items to the Kwoon complete with details as to what it is, what it is worth (retail value), who made it (artist/tradesperson if applicable), dimensions if needed, and who donated it. This information is crucial to ensure all details are as clear as possible for the online format. If special arrangements need to be made to drop off donations, I can be reached on my cell phone during the day at 780-970-3590 (Don).
This coming year is the year of the Wood Dragon (February 10th, 2024 - January 28th, 2025). The Dragon symbolizes power, nobleness, honor, luck, and success in traditional Chinese culture. The Dragon is a supernatural being with no parallel for talent and excellence.
Lets bring in the year of the Dragon with a bang!!
