Weekly Re-Cap February 14-16, 2023

Lil’ Leopards

This week in the Lil’ Leopards class we worked on our speed, agility and strength with our animal races. We also used our animal sounds to help us practice our kicks and punches.

Kung Fu At Home: Ask your child to show you how their favourite animal runs.

Tiny Tigers

In our Tiny Tigers class we practiced our kicks and punches with our circle of dots game and with relays on the heavy bags. In celebration of Valentine’s Day, we also got to talk about the different things we love. Pizza was a popular one!

Kung Fu At Home: Ask your child what they love about Kung Fu.

Young Dragons Level 1

For our Young Dragons Level 1 class we worked on strengthening our legs with our horse stance while also developing our punches, front thrust kicks and drop kicks. We talked about proper rotation to maximize our punches and what makes a kick strong. Because of Valentine’s Day on Tuesday, we shared some of the different things that we love and also made an effort to compliment and share kind things about each other.

Kung Fu At Home: Ask your child to show you a proper rotation for a punch.

Young Dragons Level 2

This week in Young Dragons Level 2 we worked on our hand-eye coordination with a partner bean bag toss. We also worked on a few of our more advanced kicks like the Inside and Outside Cyclone Kicks and the Inside Flying Spinning Outside Inside Cyclone Kick. In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, we also shared kind compliments with our classmates about what makes them special.

Kung Fu At Home: Ask your child to show you a cyclone kick.
