I'm At Peace

I am at peace.

On Wednesday I was in the lion during the little leopards class so show the kids how it looked inside and how to control the lion. I was just sitting waiting for the kids to be ready to come and I just realized I’m quiet. All the noise in my head is gone. It’s just me and the frame. As I am sitting there I’m the lion, it’s not me sitting in the lion I AM THE LION. When the lions head turns so does mine. When the lion breaths so do I.

As well as in the actual dance. I enjoy it so much. Like sure I care about improvement and La La La but I really just enjoy the complexity the lion dance introduces. The waking up, includes all the breathing like the lion actually comes alive. The wave when you have to do so many different things at once! The lettuce toss, how it looks just like the lion is throwing up. The freestyle, which allows the person in the lion so add a sort of kick to the dance, a personal style. The dance it’s so mesmerizing and beautiful.

My mind calms when I touch a lion, I’m only focusing on the lion.
