Overcoming Ego

Often many goals we have can be very intimidating,  especially if we compare our progress to other individuals progress. I know it can frustrating to see someone else excel at a task that you a struggling with. I definitely felt that way with the IHC program this time last year. It was my first year doing it, and that ego orientated attitude of comparing my progress to others only made it more challenging, and at times made me want to quit. Reflecting back I can see how my attitude and approach has changed so drastically. My focus now is on my continual self improvement, rather than living up to the standards of others. As long as I am consistently improving I am happy with myself and feel successful. So my message to new team members that may be feeling intimidated, as long you are better than you were yesterday you are on the right track.
